Fables

Fables was a tv-series (the first 4 episodes were released as a feature film) being developed at Grid in Ghent. It was a reinvention of the classic Dutch series ‘de fabeltjeskrant’. Although it was made in 3d, everything was designed to resemble strips of felt and cardboard as a reference to the original series. Freek Quartier did the art direction.  

I did all the character design (20 characters in all), designed many props and set up some of the the main sets for this series. For the characters, I drew all the modelsheets (turnarounds, expressionsheets, hand and feet sheet), figured out the colors and finally corrected the 3d models.  I designed the credits for the film and colorgraded the poster.

Sadly, after the first 4 episodes were finished, the project was put on indefinite halt when Grid went under.
